Some advice to increase IPhone 3G Battery Life

May 7th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in IPhone, Mobile Phones

Apple battery is designed to provide long battery life, however sometimes in cases of heavy usage the battery exhausts fast. In fact you can get you 3G IPhone to work longer if you manage to:

•    Turn off 3G and only use it when you need it, yes 3G off does increase battery life.
•    Turn off Wi Fi, Auto Brightness (25% or 33% brightness is ok) , Bluetooth, Sound Effects, EQ, SSH, Edge and only use them when needed.
•    Once per month, use your battery till its life is finished, and then recharge it to the full level, this is good for the battery because it resets it to the best ability. In fact the more you recharge your device, without letting the battery die completely, the lower your ‘battery capacity’

Play World of Warcraft on IPhone

May 3rd, 2009 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in IPhone, Mobile Phones

Another bonus to IPhone users who love to play Warcraft, now a version of world of Warcraft works on IPhones using vollee client (a program that allow 3G phones to play CPU intensive PC applications over the network). A couple of weeks ago a youtube video showed World of Warcraft working fine on an iPhone and responded with “fully working app.” When questioned whether it was for real.

The idea of vollee is similar to VNC or Remote desktop with some extra functions to allow streaming of full PC games directly from your computer, i.e. the processing will be on a server (in this case your computer) while you use the client in IPhone to play the game. Vollee has a partnership with Blizzard, the makers of World of Warcraft and they have also been able to port Second Life to mobile phones.

With this new technology will it be possible for blizzard to port Diablo 3 too when it is released? I think yes, we just have to wait and see.
